About Marco Island

A MAGICAL PLACE

Marco Island is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico and is the largest of the 10,000 Islands. When we visited Marco the first time in 1996, we fell in love instantaneously and have been visiting here ever since. The powder white,

miles-long beach from Cape Marco

all the way to Hideaway Beach along the majestic Gulf of Mexico is perfect for
long casual walks or, if you are in the mood for it, great long runs. It is ideal for shelling,

for frequent dolphin sightings and - of course - for the most amazing sunsets. In our minds, Marco Island truly is paradise on earth.

We have three units available for rent throughout the year.  All units are located in South Seas, a meticulously maintained gated community right on the Gulf of Mexico with 24/7 security. We provide beach chairs, an umbrella and a cooler in each unit.

Conveniently

Located

A SHORT DRIVE FROM FOUR MAJOR AIRPORTS

Marco Island is remote – it truly is away from it all. However, it is within easy reach of several major airports. Fort Myers (RSW) is the closest – just under an hour drive. Alternatively, Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) are also within easy reach (about a 2-hour drive) and can be easily combined with exploring the Everglades. Don’t miss out on taking an airboat ride to explore this incredible and unique natural habitat. Punta Gorda (PGD) is 1.20 hours away and Tampa (TPA) is just under a 3-hour drive.

Shopping & Dining

SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A BEACH RESORT

We have come back every year since 1996 – often more than once.  Our three sons have come to absolutely love this place and refer to our “beach house” as our home away from home. As a family, we have made many incredible memories here, and plan to make many more for years to come. Marco Island has a tremendous choice of restaurants, several of them within walking distance.  There are supermarkets and several beach boutiques within an easy

5-minute drive.  And there certainly are plenty of options for shopping, especially if you are up for the drive to nearby Naples (about 20 minutes), with its famous Fifth Avenue or to the Miromar Outlets in Estero (about 50 minutes away)

Our Favorites

EAT. CHILL. PLAY.

Our favorite things to do in Marco:

  • Beach: Just enjoy and “chillax”.

  • Marco Movies: enjoy the newest movies while having a snack and/or enjoying a drink

  • Mackle Park: Play basketball, soccer or let the kids romp at the water park.

  • Snook Inn: Enjoy lunch and watch the dolphins

  • Sunset Grille: Dine at one of the only beachfront restaurants and watch the world-famous sunsets.
